New faces, familiar faces, new experiences and opportunities…it must by another Rail Infrastructure Networking event! Ably assisted by AARCPS Associate Chris Rowley and Marketing Manager Nigel Barber, this time around I attended the final RIN event of the calendar year, held at the Great Yorkshire Show ground in Harrogate on 13th November.
Having already exhibited at RIN’s previous events in London, Glasgow and Derby, we once again joined a wide variety of companies to showcase our services and in particular, explain how we help our clients achieve outstanding outcomes across the fields of rail operations, business change & projects, infrastructure, safety & assurance and rail operations training.
And, as a business run by railway people for railway people, we have some excellent case studies to help us demonstrate that, with the recent opening of Transport for Wales new tram/train maintenance depot at Taffs Well, Cardiff (where we have been providing operational support/guidance and training) being an excellent example (read more here.)
‘Providing important products and services that help keep the industry running…’
But whilst providing the perfect forum for us to promote the AARCPS message and brand, RIN events also present an ideal opportunity for us to keep our finger on the pulse, engaging with other SMEs, all of whom provide important products and services that help keep the industry running, be it specialist data management systems through to accident investigation training. Harrogate was no exception, with over 170 businesses attending, making it one of the year’s biggest and best events. Myself, Chris and Nigel all enjoyed welcoming visitors to our stand, most of whom left with the coveted AARCPS goody bag, now featuring our new colour coded aluminium water bottle!

So, as 2025 draws to a close, I’d like to thank all those we have met at the various events myself and other members of the team have attended across the year, both RIN led as well as other events such as Rail Link, held in Dublin in April and the recent Rail Industry Association annual conference in London. I’d also like to personally thank the excellent team at Jobson James Rail, who are responsible for organising the series of Rail Infrastructure Networking events and who have once again delivered a series of fantastic networking opportunities. We’ve already booked our place at all of next year’s RIN events – we look forward to seeing you there!
